The PlayStation 5 Pro is due out on November 7, and with just a few days to go before the new console’s launch, we finally have confirmation of both the machine’s full specs and all 50 games getting enhanced PS5 Pro upgrades in time for release .
System architect Mark Cerny’s technical presentation the unveiling of the $700 PS5 Pro back in September gave a broad overview of what the mid-gen refresh would be capable of, but with official unboxings of the new hardware underway, we now have a better idea of its actual specs that power the most powerful gaming console available today. A new overview technical analysts Digital foundry highlighted three previously undisclosed details:
- a power supply with a maximum power of 390 W
- Custom AMD Radeon GPU of 16.7 teraflops
- 2 GB additional DDR5 RAM
So what does this mean? Digital Foundry notes that power consumption is higher than the base PS5 at 340W, meaning the console may be a bit of a power hog. We’ll see how efficiency settings can save people’s energy bills. It also points out that the 16.7 teraflops are lower than previous leaks, while the addition of 2GB of RAM is higher. Ultimately, the devil will be in how well the PS5 Pro can use a custom configuration and new PSSR upscaling technology to deliver results beyond what a standard PC is capable of at a similar price point.
Sony, meanwhile, has finally released the full list of over 50 games that PS5 Pro owners can check out at launch and see these more powerful specs and upscaling in action. Here they are:

While I don’t have a PS5 Pro on the way yet– Mortgage, kids, that winter heating bill coming up – I would definitely like to take a look Star Wars Outlaws, Alan Wake2And Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth if I did. All three games are technically impressive showpieces with incredible environments and overall art design. The ray tracing in Remedy Entertainment’s horror thriller looks particularly stunning so far.
But there are also some notable absentees from the list. Final Fantasy XVIan exclusive with notable framerate issues, doesn’t seem to be getting an improved PS5 Pro mode yet. And RecurringHousemarque’s excellent 2021 roguelike space shooter, also missing. Elden Ringone of the best-selling and most critically acclaimed games of recent years, also appears to have no upgrades at launch.
While PS5 Pro’s enhanced modes allow games to benefit from better framerates, resolutions, and texture density, developers must also do their best to accommodate those upgrades. It’s possible that improvements to many of the aforementioned games will be rolled out in the not-too-distant future. In the meantime, even mainstream games should get some overall performance stability improvements from the more powerful PS5 Pro hardware.
