CINCINNATI— Bengals running back Zack Moss is expected to go on injured reserve this week with a neck injury. Could veteran Boston Scott help fill the void in the backfield?
Scott is “fully healthy,” according to Jordan Schultz. The 29-year-old suffered a partially torn meniscus before the start of the 2024 season.
He played in 75 regular season games, is a good pass catcher out of the backfield and is a solid runner between the tackles. Scott has averaged 4.3 yards per carry in his six-year career.
He’s a smaller back at 5-6, 204 pounds, but he’s quick and a willing pass blocker.
If the Bengals don’t trade for a lead at Tuesday’s deadline, adding a proven player like Scott could make a lot of sense.
Schultz reports that Scott already has a workout scheduled with the Saints.
