CASPER, Wyo. – The Casper-Natrona County Health Department is inspecting restaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores, mobile food units, commissaries and food vending operations. Every facility has an unannounced inspection at least twice a year.
According to the department, there are “three types of violations: priority, priority basis and core.”
While the Department of Health looks for deficiencies, the organization’s main goal is to educate businesses, help them understand unsafe practices and find ways to correct them.
According to the Natrona County Environmental Health Program Manager, “There is no sliding scale on whether or not you pass a health inspection.” Any violation will be remedied immediately or within 10 days. This means that a violation does not make the company unsafe.
If a reinspection is necessary, the problem may have been more serious or the facility may have taken more time to correct the problem. They have 10 days to resolve the issue, and Heald says most facilities can easily meet the requirement.
Any serious violations or notable citations will be included in the summaries below, but the full report for each restaurant can be found on the department’s website, where it posts all current information.
